Who can Obama be proud of?

I got to wondering today - does Obama have anyone in his orbit he doesn’t have to make excuses for, deny affiliation with, or demand is off limits? Is there anyone in this man’s life who has influenced him, taught him, advised him, or just been his friend, who Obama is comfortable putting in front of a microphone or sending to an uncontrolled interview?

I can’t think of any.

His own running mate has called a campaign commercial Obama approved “terrible.” Just this week, Biden pointed out that an Obama presidency would trigger a international crisis. Obama dismissed this by calling it a political flourish.

His wife, who has gone from microphone to microphone to speak publicly on Obama’s behalf, is off limits - we can’t even examine her own words - but Sarah Palin’s daughter’s boyfriend’s Myspace page is can be picked apart just as Joe the Plumber’s financial history.

Obama’s pastor, mentor, and former campaign advisor, Jeremiah Wright, has within a matter of weeks been guarded, defended, had excuses created for him, received Obama’s renewed pledge of loyalty, and roundly thrown under the bus all within a matter of weeks.

Obama’s collaberator, the domestic terrorist William Ayers, “just lived in his neighborhood,” but we may learn conclusivly that Ayer’s was the ghost writer for Obama’s book, “Dreams of My Father.” We already know Ayer’s saw something in Obama he liked enough to help him kick of his political career.

The list goes on.

I ask the reader - can you think of anyone in Obama’s life who has never needed defending?

I ask the writer - can you think of anyone is any of our lives who never needed defending? What’s the point?

Bobby O, thanks for stopping by and the comment.

Yeah, I can think of a lot of people. My wife has never said anything in public that I am ashamed of or believe would hurt my career.

I don’t have any domestic terrorists ad friends, colleagues, past collaborators.

I’ve never had to leave a church because the pastor was threatening to my career and an embarrassment.

The point is, Obama has poor judgment and a predominately anti-American group of people in his sphere of influence. They are steeped in hate for this country, class warfare Marxism, self-segregation, and victimology.

Let’s see… Colin Powell, multiple secretaries of state (particularly the ones that didn’t help orchestrate coups in the third world, destroying scores of innocent lives), Oprah, his adorable children, millions of American voters…

Obama is the most thoroughly vetted candidate in this election… all of the stuff McCain is bringing up now was already flung at him, and discarded during the primaries by all but the most extreme rightwingers (hey! that’s you!).. .

He has made a website to fight the smears, had his birth certificate handled and verified by multiple independent agencies and the issuing agency in Hawaii… why aren’t you demanding the same accountability from your own?

Sarah Palin has yet to release her medical records, and is the only one of the four yet to do so. She could disprove the fake pregnancy rumors with a simple photo, yet after her nomination dozens of photos were removed from the governor’s website in Alaska…

Even if she is not lying about the maternity of Trig, she made an awful, irresponsible decision flying eight months into a high-risk pregnancy. Not only did she put her unborn child’s life at risk needlessly, it also would have screwed over everyone on the plane with her had the aircraft been forced to divert and make an emergency landing.

Not to the mention the fact that she is incompetent, the woman can hardly string together a sentence, and certainly not one with any substance. John McCain is an eye-rolling, cynical buffoon with a temper. Whatever integrity he once had is now gone.

They’re running a really smart campaign– calling over half the country unpatriotic and not “real americans.”

I’ll be back when your “mavericks” lose.

Hi Max, thanks for stopping by. Colin Powell isn’t someone I’d consider having been in Obama’s orbit. I’m talking about people he has chosen prior to the campaign to be friends, advisers, mentors, colleagues, etc.

Can you name about 3 or 4 of these former secretaries of state? Last I knew, besides Power, 4 of them are endorsing McCain, not Obama.

Vetted by whom? Who discarded what? Joe the Plumber has been vetted and investigated more than Obama.

Why are you worried about Palin’s body? I thought liberals believed a woman’s reproductive decision and unborn baby were her decision alone, but you are judging her - that’s not consistent with the liberal articles of faith.

Stop by again soon, I hope you subscribed - I enjoyed your comments.

For starters Obama can be proud that he’s above the petty guilt-by-association games that the fanatic right are so fond of.

Hypocrisy and dishonesty are hallmarks of right-wing politics. If only once there was an attack against Obama that didn’t have to resort to distortion of the truth and manipulation of fact I might give some credence to the rest of the conservative argument against Obama. Pushing an agenda is problematic when you start from invalid premises.
