Will Palin go on offense?

I have been going through in my mind the likely possibilities for tonight’s debate. My first thought was that both candidates would be gaurded. Biden will have been carefully counseled to ensure he doesn’t tip the apple cart by saying something reckless and threatening their lead in the polls. Palin has no doubt undergone some strenuous tutoring.

How boring. The only real fodder for disscussion there would be how the mainstream media will undoubtedly paint the debate as a win for Biden. Hacks from both sides will claim a win for their guy/gal, and of course, there will be extra scrutiny of the moderator and treatment of the candidates. Other than that, my predictions were basically that this debate would come and go and change things little.
I hadn’t thought of this. It appears Palin my just go on the attack.
“This is going to finally put her back into a position where we see her like we saw her the first couple weeks,” a McCain official said. “She was herself. She was authentic, and people related to that. … Tonight, she’ll get into a rhythm. You’re going to see her in a way that you haven’t seen her yet.”
This “McCain official” is contradicting himself. Are we going to see her in a new way or are we going to see her like we saw her the first couple weeks?
Anyway…
On the other side they’re advertising that Biden will present…
a just-the-facts, prosecutorial approach laying out the case against McCain and defending Obama
Palin won’t face the type of questions Couric threw at her. Tonight the questions will be direct, meaningful, and appropriate for clearly stated positions in response, and Palin will not have a problem with them. She’ll have no problems getting the points across.
The question is, what’s going to be the necessary icing on the cake to get some sort of bounce out of the debate? Will she assault Biden with his own words?
Raising taxes is patriotic…
His foreign policy positions in the past…
Areas where Biden and Obama have clashed…
I wonder if she’ll actually bring up Biden’s criticism of Obama during the primaries. I doubt it, but it’d be fun.

In regards to a prior comment on another story, I guess the lighting advantage will most likely go to Palin.
After actually watching the debate, this was a very well written article. I am still quite impressed with Sarah Palin. Biden made my eyes glaze over with his monotonous rambling wah wah wah.
