Blue Note
Blue note has stiff competition with other aromatics in my rotation that smoke better, taste better, and are more economical.
I’m not a big fan of fruity type flavors in my tobacco - even in an aromatic, and this one is fruity, but I’m not basing my overall review on that bias.
The blend is extremely sweet which only aggravates the intensely shrill high notes from the sour fruit flavor and tangy Virginias. There are no real bass notes to balance it out. It will bite easily which is a real downer for any aromatic - when I reach for a aromatic I’m looking for a comfort smoke that requires no concentration.
Blue Note just doesn’t deliver. I can understand why some like it, but it isn’t my idea of a good aromatic or blend in general.

I will agree that Blue Note lacks “bass notes,” and it certainly can bite. However, if anything can help differentiate pipe smokers from cigarette smokers, it is this room-freshener. The room note is fantastic!
I have a Dr. Grabow specifically dedicated to Blue Note, as I have found that the taste is intractable. Once it goes into a pipe, it never comes out again. I used to sit outside at UVA and smoke this, but always with a wind screen, or it would overheat. I always found it to be an enjoyable bowl!
Thanks for stopping by Paulson. I’m definitely in the minority among aromatic lovers in my opinion on Blue Note. It is very popular, and I’m glad you enjoy it. I’ve never had the pleasure of being around someone else smoking the blend, and I’m sure the room not is wonderful.
I am with you on Blue note. I find it lacking and too sweet. The girls here in the family like the smell of it and say it is one of the better smelling tobacs I have. So go figure. They like the one I do not.
