Universal health care death sentence

A man in the UK has strangers - bureaucrats in government making life and death decisions about his health care. They were forced into deciding whether to spend a bunch of money on keeping one man alive or spend the money on the health care needs of dozens or hundreds of other individuals.

What happened to clean and articulate?

The great statesman isn’t off to a very good start proving that he wants to put behind us the “pettiness and immaturity that has poisoned our politics.” (Obama’s words. See the transcript of his victory speech Tuesday night.) He’s damn good at reading the nice speeches written for him on a teleprompter, too bad he can’t remember what he reads and practice what he preaches.

What a woman does with her body is her own business. Unless she’s fat.

This is Big Brother folks. He sucked you in by promising to take care of your every need, now he’s telling you what your body will be like and punishing you financially if it doesn’t meet government approval.

Seven things to think about before supporting national health care

There is no problem with uninsured. I say there is no problem because the reason they are uninsured is choice. If someone could be insured but chooses not to be, that is not a problem - not for me anyway. I live in Hawaii, one of the most expensive cost of living areas of the country. A 20-something smoker can buy a health insurance plan for well under $100 a month. Working one afternoon or evening shift a week at a minimum wage job will cover the monthly payment with money leftover for a savings account dedicated to copays. Giving up a evening or two at clubs, a few meals in restaurants, or the premium cable channels will also cover the cost.
